Boxes for urn, donations and jewellery

History

The creation of the urn box in 1990 is closely linked with the fast growth of cremation. The number of cremations in France has gone up from 4996 in 1979 to 80534 in 1998 (14.9 % of deceased). In 68 % of the cases, the family is given the urn back.

Use
Urn boxes: in Latin society, the cremation is still a little known rite and very traumatising. The box avoids the family being in direct contact with the urn and makes the carriage easier. In case of ashes dispersion, the family gets from the funeral director a suede cylinder with a memory certificate.

Boxes for charitable donations: in some cases, the family does not wish to receive sprays of flowers, etc… and prefers to make donations to charitable organisations, to the league against cancer, etc… During the ceremony, donations are collected into a sealed box.

Jewellery box : the jewellery of the deceased are given back to the family in a special box.
